Sara's Special Day!

Last weekend Jeff and I jumped in the car and drove 9 hours to Mattawa to spend the weekend with our family.

Sara went through the temple for the first time and the whole family was there to support her. She looked beautiful in white and her smile was brighter than ever. She is a step closer to being married for time and all eternity. I can not wait for that day on June 26Th when she will be able to feel that true happiness that I was able to receive on December 20Th! I love that girl so much and I am so proud of her.

It was such a great, overwhelming feeling to be in the temple with all of my sister in laws and my mother in law. I am so blessed to have such a great family.
We had a great time there...for the most part! Jeff is such a great uncle, he is always outside playing with his nieces and nephews but this weekend it didn't pay off. Jeff was taking all the little kids on a four wheeler ride like he always does when all of the sudden he heard all the kids screaming. He looked back and saw the kids fly out of the wagon that was being towed by the four wheeler. Apparently he hit the edge of the grass with the front wheel of the trailer and it dumped all the kids out right in front of a huge boulder. There was a lot of screaming, crying and dirty faces. But in the long run it ended with Paige getting grass stained hair, Kate with scratches on her toes, Aubrey traumatized from seeing her brother bleed all over the place and Carter with 5 stitches on the top of his head, a fat lip and a raspberry on his side. Straight from Kate's mouth, "Mom, I didn't flew....Carter flew...but I didn't flew." We decided that meant that Carter flew out of the trailer but Kate didn't. Everyone was pretty shaken and upset but I don't think anyone was as upset as Jeff. While I was sitting outside trying to console my husband, Addie (the dog) came walking up to Jeff. All Jeff could say through his cracked voice and wet eyes was, "Addie do you still love me?" He felt so bad but after 4 bathes and a million apologies I think we were all OK. Let's just say that Vicki will never let that happen again. Not even 2 minutes after the accident she wrote a "Safety Manual" for Boulder Resort. It included no four wheeler rides in the trailer EVER AGAIN.

We felt so bad for Carter. We are so grateful for little children who forgive so easily. On the way to the hospital Carter called Jeff just to say, "It's OK Jeff, I love you." I think we can all learn a few things about forgiveness from Carter. We are so grateful he is OK and that his parents and the rest of the family were so forgiving and helpful! I really do have such a great family!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I have to work on Mother's Day so I won't be able to see either of my mother's but I wanted to let the world know how special Mother's Day is to me.
I never used to take Mother's Day seriously, ya know Mom would always get the flowers at church that I was so jealous about cause I could never have them and I used to do what everyother kid did...make paper hearts with huge letters saying "I love you Mom", but I don't think I realized how important Mother's Day was until just a few years ago. Granted I am still only 21, but those short 21 years of my life I owe to my mother. I am sure you have heard of woman that are the peacemakers, the ones that endure it all for other people instead of themselves, the ones that don't care what other people think and will stay true to themselves, and the ones that will never gossip or speak ill of anyone throughout their whole lives! If it is hard for you to imagine this kind of woman then you haven't met my mother. There is not a single person on this earth that I look up to more than my mother. She is and will forever be my hero and role model. I hope I can become half the mother she is! Thanks for shaping me into the women I am today and for many years to come. I love you Mom!

Oh I am not done yet! I have another Mother that came into my life last year that I charish and love. I think you could smell her cooking all the way from the beginning of Boulder Lane. My mother in law is not like a mother in law to me at all. She is like a mother! From the first time I met her, her arms were open to me. I don't know how I got so lucky but this wonderful women is unlike any other women I have ever known. Who makes 10 meals from scratch every single day? (Oh and when I saw scratch I mean grinding her own wheat to make her bread)...Vicki does! Who goes to every single game of every sport that all of her children played?...Vicki does! Who drives for hours and hours on end just to see her children and give them a hug?...Vicki does! Who always has a moving seminary lesson planned for the wonderful kids in Mattawa?...Vicki does! Who always puts her family first no matter what the circumstance?...Vicki! If you can't find her in the kitchen you can find her downstairs in the sewing room. If she had the time I think she would sew an outfit for each little african child (and I am totally not kidding you). Thanks Vicki for being such a great example and mother to me. I have a lot to learn from you. I love you.

Someone once told me that everyday is kids day and mothers only have one day out of the year to celebrate. I hope we all remember that we need to celebrate our mothers every day out of the year! I am not a mother yet, but when I do become one I have a lot to live up to. I will never take Mother's Day for granted again. Thanks to all the mothers that have touched my life.

Cali baby...literally!

I got sooo lucky this week! Somehow I found a really cheap ticket to Cali and had 6 days off from work. So, of course I had to take the trip to see my brand new niece (Finley Marie). I had such a great time. We went shopping, ate Pink Berry, took a trip down Rodeo Drive and went swimming.

I couldn't believe how beautiful, fun and exciting Rachel's children were. Devin and Rachel were so nice to let me come and stay. I am even planning on making another trip down there in August, but this time I am going to bring Jeff along so Devin has someone to hang out with. Thanks again Rachel and Devin it was a blast.

CAMPING!

Jeff and I went camping with my sister Liza and her husband Jason! It was the beginning to many camping trips to come this summer.

We played games!

Ate really good food. (Liza made dinner and I made breakfast)

Of course we had to do some dirt biking.

At the end of it all we decided to do some hiking. It was a perfect end to a perfect weekend. Even though it was still freezing outside we had a great time.

Cowboy up!

We went to Dillon, Montana the other weekend to do a little branding! It was Jeff's very first time! He was a natural, he even did some castrating! We had a blast!

I was even able to rope! It was like the good old days! Jeff has never seen me ride before so he had fun watching me do what I do best!

Jeff decided that he would try a different way to get the calves for branding...so he decided to carry them out! The cowboys looked at him like he was crazy, he would seriously walk into the gate, grab a cow, lift it up and carry it out! These cows were like 250 pounds!

That's my boy!

I don't think you want to know what they are eating! We are such a fun time! Thanks again Mom and Dad for inviting us it was a blast!
