Mr and Mrs Roylance

This last weekend Sara (my sister in law) got married in the Columbia River Temple in Washington! It was such a beautiful day and she looked so happy.

These are our cute little nieces and nephews they are wearing designs by Vicki Sabin! Don't worry cause Vicki also made Sara's dress, the wedding cake, the food at the reception, all the center pieces and designed and put together the whole reception.

All the sisters at the temple.

This is the amazing cake. It was a beautiful reception.

Heidi (my sister in law) and I.

These last pictures were from the second reception in Moses Lake, Washington. It was such a pretty night.

Saturday morning we had some spare time to hang with the family at the house. Marci, Heidi, Vicki and I decided to use our time wisely and pick raspberries. They never stop growing so someone had to get the job done. I thought it was going to be a little bit more extreme then it really was...hence the irrigation boots that I have on.

We also set up the huge slip and slide when the cousins came to the house. It was a blast! Jeff got a little out of control and kept sliding into the bushes. He had scratches all over his back and twigs and dirt all over his face.
The weekend was a blast! We always have so much fun in Mattawa. We can't wait to go back.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF!

Jeff didn't know what to expect for his birthday this year! He thought that he already had his fun and surprise when his family came! He didn't know what was coming when I picked him up from school that day!

I made hotel reservations at Rustic Inn in Jackson Hole, Wyoming (where we stayed for our honeymoon almost 6 months ago!) When I picked up Jeff from school I grabbed my scarf and wrapped it around his eyes! I blindfolded him all the way to Victor! He had NO idea what was going on. I told him the plans and he couldn't stop smiling. He loved the idea.

Some little bird (Jairus, my brother who lives in Jackson) told the hotel that we were coming for Jeff's birthday. So the hotel upgraded our room for free to a suite! Jairus even had a bouquet of beautiful roses waiting for us in the room! It made the trip even better.

I made chocolate covered strawberries the night before to bring along for a little snack. They were a big hit, Jeff loved them.

I even let him choose where we were going to eat that night. Of course he chose a burger place but it was so yummy and fun. Everyone in the whole restaurant sang to Jeff.
The trip was a totally success! Jeff loved his birthday and it was a totally surprise. Two thumbs WAY UP!
This was my first attempt at making a tractor cake. Jeff had to have funfetti frosting so I found a way to frost every corner with chunks everywhere.

The cake was a hit too! I made it the night before his birthday but we weren't able to light the candles and sing to him till the day after cause of the trip.
Don't worry, Jeff still ate it.
I am so grateful for my hard working, loving, kind, humble, handsome husband. I am so blessed to have a great guy like him in my life. Happy birthday babe! I love you!

What is my deal?!?

OK I really do not know what my deal is! Cashier ladies and I just do not mix! Let me explain!
I am sure you all remember the cherries or crack story. Well this one isn't as great as that but I still feel like I need to share with you this embarrassing story. This is how is went down.
All I wanted to do was buy some glue for a craft project I was doing and of course while I was doing so I had to make a fool of myself.
Cashier lady at Walmart: (Mid 40's, brown short hair and totally ready to be done working)
"Hi"
Sadie: "Hi, how are you."
Cashier lady: "Fine....um...what's your birthday?"
Sadie: "Uh...January 3rd?" (I honestly had no idea why she wanted my birthday, I totally thought I had won a prize or something)
Cashier Lady: "And...the year" (saying this with one nostril turning up and a disgusted sound to her voice)
Sadie: "What?"
Sara (She was with me too): "Sadie! She wants to know if your old enough to buy the glue!!...ya know, so you don't sniff it."
Cashier lady raising her eyebrows, slightly opening her mouth and nodding her head back and forth
Sadie: "Ohhhhhhh!!!! I thought I had won a prize or something, hahahaha" (There was that nervous, embarrassed laugh again)
Sadie: "Uh Uh it's 1988, ha...sorry."
Cashier Lady: "Ummm yeah" (under her breath)
I seriously felt so stupid, I grabbed my bag of glue (now knowing that I am old enough to sniff it) and rushed out the sliding glass doors.
To be completely honest with you I don't get what age has to do with buying glue! I mean aren't people going to sniff it regardless if they are 17 or 21?...
These cashier ladies in Rexburg are sure teaching me a thing or two about illicit drug!
WHO KNEW!

This is what I needed the glue for!
The magnets turned out great!

Next time I check out somewhere I am going to think before I answer any questions! PERIOD!

SURPRISE!!

The weekend before Jeff's birthday was suppose to be filled with camping, dirt biking and smores. Little did Jeff know that all those plans were simply just a cover up for something way better.
For the past couple weeks Craig (Jeff's dad) and I have been planning a surprise visit to Idaho for Jeff's birthday. He had no idea! This was his face when he walked into the restaurant and saw his family there.

I thought that only Craig and Jared were coming, but to my surprise Sara, Derek and Vicki came. It was one of the best weekends we have had so far as a family.
The boys, Sara and I went riding Saturday morning and came home to a great lunch made by Vicki. After that the girls and Derek went shopping, literally spending 4 hours in Porters. The boys headed off for some more riding and at the end of the day Jeff opened his present from the family and we all had cake.

Jeff drew on the Deer, Vicki designed it!
We had the best time with the Sabin family! We love that they sacrifice so much to come see us all the way in Idaho. We really do appreciate there love and hard work that they do for the family. We are so glad we get to see them again soon for Sara's wedding.

Rainy days

Jeff and I wanted to go to the Sheridan (the family cabin) this Saturday for a day away from the town. We planned on going fishing, swimming and most importantly...dirt biking.

To our dismay, we woke up to rain. Jeff kept saying to himself, "Oh it will go away." (It never did) We drove 120 miles total just trying to find a place to ride where it wasn't raining, windy or cold.
We weren't very successful!

Jeff wasn't very happy about the whole situation. We finally ended up at R Mountain, next to Rexburg, where we rode for 2 miles then had to stop cause it was raining so hard.

Cherries or Crack?

Today I decided to run to Broulims (our local grocery store) to grab some lemons for a salmon dinner I was planning on making tonight. Of course I had to skim over the rest of the produce to see if there was anything in season I just couldn't live without. I came across some cherries that looked so good. I thought to myself, "this will make a perfect dessert for after dinner." So I got a bag of cherries and didn't exactly look at the price.
This is what went down in the check out line
This lady was about 43 years old, big blonde hair and some sort of purplish, red lipstick.
Check out lady: "How are you today?" (In a new york accent) Do not ask me what she was doing in Rexburg and working at Broulims.
Sadie: "I am doing great, how..."
Check out lady: "Oh I am great honey, just great.....HOLY CRAP girlfriend these cherries are eighteen dollars!!! Are you SURE you want to get them?
Sadie: "Ummm...
Check out lady: "Cause they are not worth it girl, they are not worth it." (I couldn't get a word in)
Sadie: "I...guess not."
Check out lady: "I would never buy cherries that cost that much, I mean you could buy like...2 bags of crack with that money."
Sadie: "Oh really..."
Check out lady: "Oh and I guarantee you would be way way happier with crack too."
Weird man behind me coming way to close to my bubble: "Oh yeah man, I would take crack over cherries any day."
Check out lady: "I am telling you girl you better be glad I talked you out of those cherries you are gonna be way happier."
Weird man: "Yeah, now you can buy crack."
Weird man and check out lady laughing disturbingly, Sadie laughing nervously slowly taking her lemons (leaving the cherries behind) and creeping out of the check out line.
Sadie: "Thank you."
Check out lady: "Have a great day with your crack."
