24th of July 10K RUN!

Jeff and I decided last minute to go with my family and run the 10K in Salt Lake City on friday. It was so much fun and Jeff and I did great.

Jeff finished with a great time and was waiting for me at the end of the race. I was really happy with how I did but I thought my time would be a little better expecially since I ran the whole thing! My parents and a couple of my sisters went to and everyone did awesome.

We had so much fun and we are so excited for the next run. Pin It Now!

DISCLAIMER!!!!

Well after I blogged about new beginnings and talked about Jeff's internship something we weren't really expecting happen...Jeff lost yet another internship!
So after many prayers and lots of crossed fingers...JEFF FINALLY REALLY GOT AN INTERNSHIP
It is for real this time...we promise!
Jeff was accepted with 5 different companies for an internship but each company called about a week after and told Jeff that they couldn't do it anymore! It was just so ridiculous but it all worked out in the end.
Now Jeff will start on Monday with DEPATCO! Congrats babe this time it is for real! Pin It Now!

Pizza Making

Jeff wanted to help make homemade pizzas the other day...he wanted an apron...I think thats all I have to say!

The pizza turned out great...thanks to Jeffs tender touch...

Island Park

Jeff and I went camping this weekend up by my parents cabin in Island Park.

We were right next to the lake and it was so beautiful.

Ok so it may look like we were protected from the wildlife but I did not sleep one wink all night long! I don't usually have issues but there were bear warnings so I got super nervous! It was all worth it.

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

Since the end of April I have been training with my brother in law to get that rocking body for summer! I weighed in at the beginning of the training and took measurements...then last Wednesday I weighed in again. After 1500 calorie days and dripping sweat workouts...the results are in! I was so nervous, I mean I knew I had seen results but I didn't know how great the results would be.
Well......
*I lost 4.5 inches off my waist
*I lost 10 mm off the back of my arm (that means that when they pinched my arm to figure the fat percentage it was 10 mm less then 2 and a half months ago)
*I lost 5 mm off my thigh
*I lost 7 pounds of body fat
*I gained 7 pounds of lean muscle mass
*I went from 27% body fat to 20% body fat
The results are in and they are awesome!!! I am so glad that all of the hard work has paid off! The best part about this adventure is that is has just started! I am not slowing down anytime soon and the results are going to keep coming! I have to give a shout out to my amazing fantastic trainer, Jessie Smith (my brother in law). I couldn't have done it without him.

Hello to new beginnings!

This past week has been completely packed with announcements that have been long awaited for! As sad as Jeff and I are to see these two crazy siblings go...Jason (my brother in law) finally got a job in Las Vegas as an assistant project manager. It has been 5 months since Jason lost his job in Texas and that is what brought them to Idaho. We have had such a blast with them here! Camping, cooking, swimming, walks, games, movies...the list goes on and on. We are so excited for them to have their new beginning in Vegas! Jeff and I will have to go see them often especially since Liza is having her little Hazel very soon!

Want to hear about more good news!?....Jeff got an INTERNSHIP! Jeff has been trying for 6 months to find an internship for this fall. He has called, emailed and interviewed with more than 50 companies in eastern Idaho. He has gotten a few offers that looked promising but they all end up turning him down with the excuse of, "There isn't enough work," or "We don't do internships." I don't think that we would have had so much of a problem if we weren't trying to stay in Idaho but I have a job here and we are staying here for another 2 years at least so we have been trying to find one around here. One day Jeff was looking through the yellow pages for more companies to call and a magnet fell out of the phone book! It was an advertisement for a cleaning and restoration company. Jeff's first thought was that that company would totally count cause they restore carpet, cabinets and things like that. That little magnet was our little miracle! Jeff will do his internship with this cleaning and restoration company this fall.

A little side note....Jeff and I have almost been married 7 months! It has just flown by and we are loving every single minute of it.

While we are on the topic of good news...my talented, awesome, fantastic brother Jairus has been looking into moving to New York and working for a salon there. He got a call from them this week and finalized plans for him to start working there this fall. I am so excited and proud of him. He is so talented and he deserves this awesome chance to work somewhere great!

It is interesting what things like layoffs and job hunting can do for the growing and maturing of a family. Jeff and I look towards the future with open minds and wide spread arms. We can't wait to see what life will hit us with next! Our trials like finding an internship, selling the pick up, qualifying for insurance, and getting through our lame arguements might be little trials for some, but we are getting primed and ready for the long road ahead. We are grateful for our struggles and we think (and hope) that they will bring us closer together in the end.

SOLD

We finally did it! Unfortunately we had to give it up for much less than we thought we would but it was all worth it. Jeff has been giving me the sad face for the past couple days because he is sad to see it go but we both know that it will benefit us in the long run.
A few days after we sold the pick up we did a little shopping of our own. Jeff and I have been searching for 3 months for something to replace the pick up. The only expectations we had was for the SUV to have four wheel drive and get at least 20 miles to the gallon.

We found it! This is obviously not the SUV we bought but it looks just like this one does it's just black instead of green. It's a Suzuki Grand Vitara, four wheel drive and gets 22-24 miles per gallon. The best part about it is we bought it with the money we got from the pick up and we were able to save some of the money as well. We are so blessed that everything worked out the way we were anticipating. Hopefully we don't have to pay for repairs like we did with the pickup! Pin It Now!

4th of JULY

This fourth of July was a blast! It was pretty much the same routine we have every fourth but this year I'M MARRIED! We stayed in Idaho this year for the firework festivities and to come together with some of the Vandersloot clan. I worked the night before but I was able to get off of work around 330 so I got a great nights rest. I was all prepared for the fourth. It started out with the parade, BBQ, obstacle course run and ended with fantastic fireworks to top it all off.

We were all pretty exhausted after the long fun filled weekend.
