Yesterday was somewhat of a blur to say the least...
since I stopped working it has been (like I expected) bittersweet.
It's not bittersweet because I miss it...
although I do,
it's more bittersweet because financial wise it's been more difficult than we expected.
Not difficult enough for me to look for job opportunities but difficult enough to really change things around in our budget.
We stick to a strict one but somehow we can't seem to save like we thought we would be able to...
and since we LIVE by Dave Ramsey
and his book "TOTAL MONEY MAKEOVER"
highly recommend to everyone!
we decided that having a car loan was just not okay for us!
So with a tear we are going to sale our precious Honda Pilot!
Oh we love it and hope that whoever buys it gives it some lovin'
It was somewhat of an impulse buy for us unfortunately!
I can hear my parents voice in my head saying, "I told you so!"
I was always raised knowing that car loans were a BIG no no but I just wanted a nice big SUV for Jeff and I and....
Reagan?
Ok that is kinda ridiculous having such a nice, big car for such a little family!
Good thing we learned our lesson!
It has been the biggest blessing in the WORLD to be able to stay home with Reagan and hopefully we can do everything in our money saving/budget power to continue to make that possible!
...and this is where I make my plug for the car!
2007 Honda Pilot
95000 miles
Seats 8 comfortably
All wheel drive
Great family car!
ASKING: $18,000
If you would like to learn more about this wonderful Pilot please feel free to email me!

Well I'm not in the market for a car or a car payment but wanted to say that this will be a huge burden lifted off of you! We just finally turned in and sold off our vehicles with loans two years ago. Bought some older models and paid cash for them. Holy cow, I feel so free! Sure some days I see nice sports cars zoomin around and I miss our BMW but I have stayed home for 8 wonderful years. No boss yelling at me for being late, get to wear my pj's all morning long if I want. Don't have to work sick or send a sick child to daycare. And it's totally worth it! I will never go back to having a car payment.
ReplyDeleteYou are inspiring me! Thank you for the reminder to do all we can do to live within our means! You are so brave for doing this! My hubs and I are suckers for cars, hence why we have had 10 in the last 12 years of marriage! Not good.
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for stopping by our blog! I was so excited to see it was YOU because I had already been blog stalking you...so you're like a celebrity blogger to me! =)

Wow...I had no idea those suckers held 8 people!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're able to sell it soon. Too bad cars don't appreciate in value and you could sell it for a profit.
Good luck!
We are on the fence about selling our Acura MDX and going down to one car. We are total Dave Ramsey fans. Read the book. Watched all the dvds. Good for you for taking that plunge.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same car, 2006, my favorite car, I love the pilot!! We also have one kid and one on the way...hate having a car payment though, only three years left I keep telling myself!
ReplyDeleteBut my husband did just sell his beautiful audi so that we could pay off some debt, that felt good, now he just drives a junky old P G and E truck he bought off a friend!
Who cares, cars are not the most important thing in life, I would say staying home with your babies is!
I need to maybe read that book, we have the HARDEST time sticking to a budget!
We live by good ole Ramsey too! I hear ya sista! It's hard to let some things go (I to sold my MDX... I Freakn LOVED it), but so worh it when ya really think about what your gaining & what you save! LOVE the cinderella style, btw!
ReplyDeleteAfter my Dave class, I seriously considered selling my car too, but wasn't as brave as you! PS I'm having a Summer Luvin' Saturday party, I'd love for you to share all the summer fun you and Reagan are having! :)
ReplyDeleteoh i think everyone goes threw this lesson and some people keeping doing it. good for you yo! ps tear down my cheek. i loved your car too.
