Burp clothes and fat lips!

Now that I have 2 months and counting left...I figured I better start on all the little projects that come with having a new baby!
Car seat cover, blankets, bedroom and burp clothes...just to name of few of them!
Here's some of the fabric I'm using to make little boy B's burp clothes!
*All fabric purchased at Porter's (pre-cut fat quarters)*
One of my dear friends just had a little girl so while I was at the store I grabbed some girl fabric and made some burp clothes for her as well!
I LOVE using cloth diapers (Gerber brand) for my burp clothes!
They are so handy...perfect size and they absorb everything!
If this little boy is as spitty as Reagan was...I'm going to need them!
AND all it takes is some extra fabric to make them look FAB!

I love doing ruffles too!!!
For my ruffles...{not like it's different from your's...I'm sure we all do it the same} I usually cut out a 4 inch wide piece of fabric and fold it together in the middle like the picture shows...
Then I do a simple straight stitch down the middle without back peddling...
then I take the top threat and pull the fabric away from me...while holding the thread...
After that I simply sew the ruffle down the middle again onto the burp cloth!
SO easy and yet so adorable!
It's the best when you can be practical and still look good...especially when a baby is involved!
All wrapped and ready to gift!
I'm starting on mine this week for the little man!
It's a whole different story working with boy stuff...no ruffles or flowers here!
Speaking of boys...Reagan might as well be one...she's been banged up so much in the 19 months she's been alive...you would think she was a wild and crazy boy!
BUT no...just our little adventurous Reagan!
Add THIS fat lip to the list of black eyes, bumps, scratches and bruises!
She almost bit through her little lip!
I love how the moment it happened I was a hot mess...trying to wash it off...put ice on it...give her some water...
when literally 5 seconds later she was eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch...that's all she wanted!
Who eats Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a raw bloody lip FOR THE LOVE?
At least the bleeding stopped and she acted like nothing had happened.
I have a feeling it's going to be even more swollen tomorrow!
At least she hasn't broken anything...
knock on wood!
{for reals...I just knocked on my desk...it would kill me if she broke one of her little appendages}
I'm sure it's just a matter of time...if not her...maybe the next!

The joys of motherhood!

OH and just in case you were wondering...The Hunger Games premiere was awesome and dare I say worth it!
Even with me being 29 weeks prego and having to wake up at 7 am with my little toddler...yeah it was worth it!

XOXO

  3. Those burp cloths are adorable! Really makes me want to learn to sew. My little one bit her lip while jumping on her brothers bed and literally stood back up, continued to jump while crying and blood was dripping down her chin! Kids are so resiliant.
