What are your thoughts!?!

Let's not kid ourselves...I DID NOT read the terms and conditions when I signed up for Pinterest...but now I'm wishing I had...
Thank you 'KYLE' from {The Window Seat} for bringing this to our attention!
If you don't know what I'm talking about...
Now...what to do...what to do?

If you don't usually pin stuff from the web then I think you're OK because you're not the first 'official' pinner...so pinterest wouldn't 'contact' you.
But I'm a little concerned about the images I personally pin from the web...
but does it worry me enough to cancel my account?
Jeff read it and all he said was..."This must be how they make their money."
That did concern me a little bit...

THOUGHTS?

XOXO
Pin It Now!

  1. I saw someone had posted about that yesterday but that link you shared from the Window Seat makes it kind of scary.

I mean, on their "about" it says:
Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web...

Notice it says "find on the web"... so they're telling us to pin what we find on the web.. BUT down in Terms it says:
"You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for all Member Content that you make available through the Site"

So pretty much, use our site to share all the stuff you find on the web... but oh, you have to take sole responsibility of whatever you share.

Kind of defeats the purpose IMO. I use pinterest as a bookmark and way to categorize crafts and recipes I find online. I'm not going to do that to content I own because I can manage it on my home computer.

PS. I pinned the image from Kyle and I think it got removed...

  2. Ooh, I lied about the pin being removed lol... it never pinned, I found the little pin window as I was closing down internet windows :)

  3. Gotta love some sneaky red tape! Thanks for bringing that to our attention. I pin stuff from the web constantly, so, that's kinda scary (and I ain't got the dough for their so-called legal fees)!

  4. Honestly I don't know what to think! It kinda freaks me out too! haha But I guess if one of us gets sued, all of us will get sued since we all pin the same thing. I got so mad when I read that though! I mean I love pinterest, but I dunno maybe I will have to just print all the ideas and save them to my computer instead of pinning them. lol :)

  5. I USE to save all the links and pictures of things I wanted to try to a word document but then I found Pinterest...same idea WAY more convenient! But if this is indeed true I might have to resort to my old, slower, more work, less organized method.

  6. That's kinda scary!! The thing is though a lot of bloggers and websites put the pin it button on their website you you can pin it, so those websites are giving you permission to pin their stuff without everyone asking them (so you're safe with those ones)or on there specifically they tell you it's ok to pin it ha, the scary part is those websites that don't have the pin it button. haha.

  7. I'm happy I did because I would spend lots of time on it too. I deleted it and haven't regretted it.

  8. I will still check out pinterest and whatnot, but i'll be careful not to post anything on a social media site (fb, blogger, etc). Hopefully this will all blow over soon!
