15 HAIRSTYLES FOR YOUR BUSY TODDLER!!!

 AFTER reading this post...come check out my most recent blog post about hairstyles!

 *****
RAISE your hand if you have a little toddler with CRAZY hair!
Kinda like this...
and it has a mind of it's own...
as captured in this photo!
WELL...after experimenting with the little hair that Reagan has...I have come up with 15 different hair styles that will work for YOUR crazy toddlers too!
BUT there is a BIT of a DISCLAIMER!...
I will explain at the end of the post!!
LET'S LOOK AT ALL THE FUN THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR TODDLERS HAIR FIRST!!!
1. {SIDE BANDED PONY}
 2. {SIDE PONY}

 3. {FIVE BANDED PIGTAILS}

 4. {SIMPLE SIDE CLIP}

5. {TWIST BACK PIGTAILS}

 6. {MESSY BUN PIGTAILS}
 7. {SIMPLE HALF PIGTAILS}
 8. {MESSY SIDE BUN}

 9. {FRENCH BRAID SIDE BUN}

10. {ZIG-ZAG THREE BANDED PIG TAILS}
11. *also can be done with simple straight part*

12. {PIGTAILS}

 13. {TWISTED BACK PIGTAIL BUNS}

14. {MIDDLE TWISTED PIGTAILS}

 15. {SIDE TWISTED PONY WITH SCRUNCHED HAIR}

 NOW for the DISCLAIMERS....
1. Distractions are a MUST! Some of Reagan's favorites...floss, makeup, water, contact cases, rubber bands! I've noticed that things only keep her occupied for like 2 minutes or LESS before she needs something different.
2. You HAVE to be able to do hair while your toddlers on the move...although I ALWAYS put her on the counter...she tends to scoot around EVERYWHERE...it takes some time to learn but I've become a PRO at making a perfect middle part or finishing off a rubber band while she reaches for a light switch.
3. Make sure no one has a tape recorder close...Jeff will sit on the couch and laugh while he listens to the conversations (more like arguments) Reagan and I have while I'm doing her hair...let's just say some of the 'conversation' aren't full of sweet, endearing words. I have learned a lot of patience!
4. GRAB YOUR MAKEUP and RUN!! Sometimes I won't take my makeup organizer off the counter and I'm ALWAYS wishing I had...you should see my sink TODAY!...it's covered in sparkly brown eyeshadow!
5. You HAVE to be OK with your bathroom looking like this when you're done! Some of these hairstyles take...let's just say...a WHILE and AFTER all the distractions are used up and spit out...your bathroom will look like THIS!...but don't worry...take your pumpkin off the counter...give yourself a pat on the back for doing your little girls hair AMAZINGLY...take a deep breathe and clean up your mess!!
6. LAST but NOT least...meltdowns WILL happen...from YOU and HER...those are the days that you resort to a side pony and call it good!

Right about now your probably thinking..."umm...that is WAY to much work...I'm good with something simple everyday."
BUT I promise it's worth it...or at least I think so!

HEY WAIT!!

Burp clothes and fat lips!

Now that I have 2 months and counting left...I figured I better start on all the little projects that come with having a new baby!
Car seat cover, blankets, bedroom and burp clothes...just to name of few of them!
Here's some of the fabric I'm using to make little boy B's burp clothes!
*All fabric purchased at Porter's (pre-cut fat quarters)*
One of my dear friends just had a little girl so while I was at the store I grabbed some girl fabric and made some burp clothes for her as well!
I LOVE using cloth diapers (Gerber brand) for my burp clothes!
They are so handy...perfect size and they absorb everything!
If this little boy is as spitty as Reagan was...I'm going to need them!
AND all it takes is some extra fabric to make them look FAB!

I love doing ruffles too!!!
For my ruffles...{not like it's different from your's...I'm sure we all do it the same} I usually cut out a 4 inch wide piece of fabric and fold it together in the middle like the picture shows...
Then I do a simple straight stitch down the middle without back peddling...
then I take the top threat and pull the fabric away from me...while holding the thread...
After that I simply sew the ruffle down the middle again onto the burp cloth!
 SO easy and yet so adorable!
 It's the best when you can be practical and still look good...especially when a baby is involved!
 All wrapped and ready to gift!
I'm starting on mine this week for the little man!
It's a whole different story working with boy stuff...no ruffles or flowers here!
Speaking of boys...Reagan might as well be one...she's been banged up so much in the 19 months she's been alive...you would think she was a wild and crazy boy!
BUT no...just our little adventurous Reagan!
Add THIS fat lip to the list of black eyes, bumps, scratches and bruises!
 She almost bit through her little lip!
I love how the moment it happened I was a hot mess...trying to wash it off...put ice on it...give her some water...
when literally 5 seconds later she was eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch...that's all she wanted!
Who eats Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a raw bloody lip FOR THE LOVE?
At least the bleeding stopped and she acted like nothing had happened.
I have a feeling it's going to be even more swollen tomorrow!
 At least she hasn't broken anything...
knock on wood!
{for reals...I just knocked on my desk...it would kill me if she broke one of her little appendages}
I'm sure it's just a matter of time...if not her...maybe the next!

The joys of motherhood!

OH and just in case you were wondering...The Hunger Games premiere was awesome and dare I say worth it!
Even with me being 29 weeks prego and having to wake up at 7 am with my little toddler...yeah it was worth it!
