I’m SO PROUD to call them family!

Let me tell you a little story about my dear older sister Emma and her husband Jessie.

IMG_7631I remember back in 2009 when Jessie told me about this crazy thing called “CrossFit”! He was actually training me for a class that he was taking and I remember so perfectly how he taught me to use a barbell and made me fling the thing up and down and up and down over and over again, until I was able to do a proper ‘CLEAN’!!! In fact, I met Jessie at a 10k race that my family and I were running…he tagged along with Emma!! Ever since I’ve known him, he’s been obsessed with fitness and his infectious passion has rubbed off on others to love it as well! Including me!! I can honestly say if it weren’t for Jessie (who first trained me) and Emily (who introduced me to my first CrossFit gym) I would have never heard about CrossFit and really…I probably wouldn’t be where I am now!

It’s been clear to me for a long time that Jessie and Emma are going places!! My sister is so dedicated to whatever she sets her sights on and if she has a dream, she will make it happen! When I first heard from them that they were going to start a gym, I immediately knew it was going to be successful! That infectious passion for fitness, I saw from both of them, back in 2009 rang true for the years to follow and now they have opened their own gym! They have made their dreams a reality and are now changing peoples lives through fitness and nutrition plans at CROSSFIT EDIFY!!

It has felt great to get back into a gym and feel the comradery that it possesses! Jessie is the kind of trainer that really understands what you need as a person, as an individual working towards your goals to become a better you!

I have never stepped foot into another gym that has had the positive atmosphere that this gym possesses!!  You’ll find positive quotes and words of encouragement scattered along the walls, written on the white boards and even sketched on chalkboards all over the gym. There are even flowers placed in the entrance! …and the positive vibes don’t end there!! Jessie is the most down to earth, real trainer, I’ve ever met and I don’t just say that cause we are related! I truly mean that! I’ve watched him train others and I’ve seen his passion in simply wanting others to succeed.

I only train at Crossfit Edify twice a week because my husband and I do most of our working out at home still but MAN it is nice to go to a place that can help me reach my goals! To work and perfect my form on my Olympic lifts so I can better them at home as well. To get that extra push from someone who really cares and to feel the love and support from all the other athletes!! I can easily say that gym is my home away from home!! If you are in the area you must check out the website and come see what this gym has to offer you! CrossFit Edify even has a child area that is open and available (for no extra charge) whenever the classes are going!

I will never forget the first day I went to CrossFit Edify. Jessie took me to the side, looked me straight in the eyes and told me that if I don’t believe in myself…then progress will NEVER happen! I agreed with him and thought I did believe in myself…until he challenged me to stand in front of the mirror for one full week and tell myself that I believe in myself and that I’m worth fighting for and pushing and progressing and I CAN GET TO THE TOP! I didn’t think I would get so emotional when I first did it. It was amazing how much better I felt when I saw myself say those words! I would have never ever thought of doing a somewhat silly act like that, and yet, I am so glad I did! CrossFit Edify isn’t just a place you go to for CrossFit…
it’s a place to GROW physically, mentally and spiritually!

edify5 You’ll never regret just trying it out!! You have nothing to lose and EVERYTHING TO GAIN!

I am so proud of you guys!! Thanks for letting me come along this journey with you! I love you so much!
