Summer is the time for sunkissed bare it all skin, right? I always tell myself I am going to go makeup free during the summer and then I struggle with acne or some type of blemish and it ruins my plan. Between hormonal acne and all the greasy sunscreen that I lather on my face, I make an actual recipe for a skin breakout disaster. I was on the hunt to find something that could give me the coverage I want, not just for my blemishes, but coverage from the sun as well. Enter the jane iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation! Making all of my skin and summer dreams comes true. This mineral foundation is the ultimate multitasker. A concealer, foundation, and sun protector all in one. Not to mention all the skincare benefits it holds. Not only is it portable and has the easiest application but it’s a high performance mineral foundation. Which means it is long-lasting, lightweight with generous coverage, and water-resistant. I throw some on lightly before the pool and add more generously before date night. It comes in 24 shades and is made with the cleanest of clean ingredients that provide even more skincare benefits including antioxidants and botanicals that nurture and protect the skin. jane iredale is a cruelty-free company. Being an animal-friendly skincare and makeup brand means they believe that testing their products and ingredients on animals is cruel and unnecessary. Their commitment to no animal testing includes not allowing third-party animal testing for product registration purposes. They also do not sell their products in markets where testing on animals is required. I love that they stand for products that are clean, good for your skin, and kind to animals as well. Check out how I use the jane iredale PurePressed® Base Mineral Foundation in my step by step photos below. Apply your PurePressed® Base Mineral Foundation using downward strokes with the Handi™ Brush. I like to take the Handi™ Brush and circle the bottom on the compact and then tap the handle on the edge to remove the excess product. I like to start at the center of the top of my forehead and move the brush down the sides of my face, slowly moving closer toward my nose. I add more under my eyes and even on my eyelid. Since this is the only makeup I will wear on my face, and I am using it as a sunscreen, I really want to make sure I am getting every surface on my face. I then took the Flocked Sponge to the darker shade of mineral foundation and pressed it into the places on my face that I wanted to contour. Like beneath my cheekbones and around my hairline. You can even repeat for added coverage or add to use as a concealer, or for full coverage, apply using the Flocked Sponge by gently pressing and rolling product onto area where coverage is desired. After I have applied it to my face, I then spray my face with the Hydration Spray of my choice. While all the jane iredale Hydration Sprays help to set my makeup and create a long-lasting, flawless finish, each of them has its own unique aromatherapy and skincare benefits. AND all the Hydration Sprays are ECOCERT Natural and Organic certified. Just like the product packaging states, all of jane iredale’s ECOCERT products are 100% natural, with the Hydration Sprays containing between approximately 23% – 31% organic ingredients. One of my favorite Hydration Sprays is the BALANCE Hydration Spray! The BALANCE spray includes Orange Essential Oil, Orange Peel Extract, Grapefruit Peel Extract and Algae Extract calm and feed the skin, and it also includes Green Tea Extract. Studies have shown that Green Tea Extract at 3% is measurably beneficial for acne-prone skin, and that’s the exact percentage they have used.
