Let’s be honest,
I probably could have squeezed the last bit of information about fitness in the last post, but I HAD to share the rest of the photos from our shoot with trueatelier.com AND I truly feel like these last few tips are JUST AS IMPORTANT as nutrition and exercise!!

SURE…eating right and exercising will get you the body you want…but we are still missing some VITAL details that really ties the ‘fit lifestyle’ together!
FIRST:
HYDRATION
Are you drinking enough water?
Staying hydrated is SO important, especially if you are working out!
Benefits?
•carry oxygen and nutrients to your cells
•Relieves fatigue and improve your mood
•Remove waste and toxins
•Help control calorie intake
•Prevent constipation
•Clear skin
•Improve performance during exercise
Calculating how much water to drink a day is SIMPLE!!
You just divide your weight by 2 and that number = the amount of water you should be drinking in OUNCES!
For example:
I am 125 pounds/2= 63 ounces
You know those big mugs you are sent home with after you’ve had a baby?
…well those mugs hold approximately 30 ounces…so I would drink about 2 of those a day!!
Simple.
And really…that is EASY to drink that much water!
SECOND:
SLEEP
It is VITAL that you are allowing your body to get enough rest at night!
The symptoms that come from not enough sleep are much like those that come if you don’t eat healthy or if you don’t exercise.
Irritability, depression, anxiety, aches, weight gain, risk of heart disease, lowered immune system, faster aging…the list goes on and on!!
How do you expect your body to recover and regenerate for the next full day of craziness if you’re not allowing yourself to truly sleep!?!
You all should know by now that if ANYONE knows sleep deprivation…it’s me!
Last winter, it would be common for me to wake up at 6 AM,
go ALL DAY with my kids,
work out,
go to work at 7 PM,
work ALL NIGHT,
come home at 8 AM,
sleep till 1 PM,
and go get my kids from the babysitter.
By the time my little boy was 6 months old, I had pretty much lost my baby weight, but I was still VERY unhappy with my body and knew I had a long way to go.
I can honestly tell you that even with the working out and eating clean…I didn’t see a change in my body!
I pushed myself so often that about every 3 weeks I would get sick…like really sick!
Like, antibiotics, UTI, strep sick!
Looking back now…it was ridiculous and really caused my body more harm then good!!
Once I quit my job,
I lost another 20 pounds and haven’t been sick since!
SLEEP is VITAL!!!
THIRD:
GOALS
I am telling you right now…if you don’t set them…you won’t make progress!
You must make small goals that YOU KNOW you can reach!!
You must make small goals that YOU KNOW you can reach!!
None of this, “I’m going to lose 50 pounds in a month” CRAP!!
No, something that you know you can accomplish.
Make sure to display your goal, or goals, somewhere you can see them!!
Post them on your mirror, next to that motivating quote you printed off of Pinterest!

Or put them on your fridge.
If you are reminded of those goals every day…you are bound to succeed!
Nowadays, my goal is to stay healthy and fit while continuing to tone and I think about that ALL DAY LONG.
Every time I think I’m too busy for breakfast or I go to put that piece of candy in my mouth!
You will soon begin to see yourself literally living by those goals daily!
What a great thing to do!
I have utilized this practice in every aspect of my life…with my family goals and marriage goals too.
If you set them, the results will come!

FOURTH:
PATIENCE
There is a very good reason why this is a virtue.
Sometimes it’s freakin’ hard to have it!
But when you are trying to change your lifestyle, you must have it!
The weight is NOT going to come off overnight.

It will take MONTHS maybe YEARS…but if you are just PATIENT with yourself…
…the results WILL COME!

FIFTH:
always remember: DO NOT COMPARE

You must not compare others successes with your own!!
You are on your own pace and schedule.
Use others for inspiration not motivation!

YOU MUST MOTIVATE YOURSELF!!!!
You must find that motivation deep in your heart and soul.
Find it and hold on tight…because you can only go UP from there!
At the end of the day…you should be proud of what you’ve accomplished PHYSICALLY…
As well as spiritually and mentally!
You deserve it
Your body deserves it
It will change your life…even if you just TRY
Take the time for yourself
