As a mother of 2 very small children, it is often difficult to find time to serve others…and as I write this it’s hard not to laugh because, as a mother, don’t you feel as if you serve every day of your life! Serving my children and husband are what I LOVE to do but even after day in and day out, wiping floors and runny noses…I often feel like I need to do other things, other acts of service outside the home. Most of the time that somewhat ‘simple’ act seems impossible with my little children. I can’t very well take my 3 year old and 18 month old to a nursing home and have them ‘entertain’ the elderly by trying to drink out of their water mugs or use their brushes…ha…or take them to a homeless shelter to help serve food. I’m not just talking about acts of service done unto strangers or the community, what about the simple acts done to a friend or even a simple act that you might do for yourself…those very thoughts and feelings are why I have teamed up with some of my favorite bloggers who not only create but inspire!!

Every month on the first Thursday of the month we will have a post that informs you of our goal for the month AND the post will have a FREE printable from Alissa (The Printed Palette). THEN on the last Thursday of the month we will have a wrap up post sharing our experiences and what we did. We invite you to share along with us. Use the hashtag #simplyserve2014 when you share any social media about this project so we can follow along! It’s easy, fun, and we will hopefully help inspire some wonderful people along the way.
This months theme is SERVE YOUR LOVE!
I love the theme this month!! I feel very spoiled having the husband that I do! If you’ve followed my blog for a while you know that I get pretty obsessed with this man of mine! It’s not always roses and butterflies but for realz, he is such an amazing father, husband, and friend! Since the very beginning of this month I have decided to not only serve him with something FUN for Valentines Day BUT I have also dedicated to myself that I would try to focus on HIM more everyday when he comes home from work! This really takes hard work throughout the day to make it possible because I want him to come home to a warm meal and a clean home and CHEERFUL wife! It’s only been a week and he’s already noticed me ‘trying’ harder! It’s important for me to shower him with the love and time that he really needs, even if he doesn’t ask for it! He is my best friend and husband, so I need to take more time treating him like my husband rather than the friend I can let out my frustrations to! I also LOVE to get ready for him (on occasion). I mean, don’t pretend that as mothers we don’t run around our houses all day in sweats, greasy top knot and no makeup! Cause…girlfriend!…I do that 5 days out of the week! The other day I put on some makeup (gasp) and some skinny jeans (double gasp) and the second he came home you could tell his smile grow a bit more! It means a lot to a man that his wife is willing to get ready (even if it’s 5 minutes)! I think it means a lot to Jeff because he knows on those days that I get ready and I don’t go ANYWHERE…that I am getting ready for him!! Just trying to keep the love alive here people!!
Speaking of LOVE and VALENTINES DAY and getting ready for your man…
I will be wearing this little number on Valentines Day when I go out with my man!!
It’s warm yet has a touch of flirty while being very sexy…(in a modest kind of way)…because that is possible!
