A few weeks ago I wrote a blog post about the holidays and how one company is trying to get the word out about thinking about others this holiday season! SO, I am back today to ask you the same question. WHAT DO YOU WISH FOR OTHERS THIS CHRISTMAS? Let me explain a bit, but first check out this adorable, heart warming, and inspiring video made by CAPITAL ONE! Wish For Others
During the holidays, we’re often asked what we wish for ourselves. This holiday season, Capital One is instead asking people to share their wish for others so I sat my kids down and taught them a little lesson on giving back! Wish For Others First I sat my little girl down and asked her what she wanted for Christmas this year. She’s been asked this many times already but of course answers with as much enthusiasm and she did the first time! Polly Pockets, Dolls, Barbies, Candy, Gum… and the list continues!! After I asked her what she wanted, I then asked what she thought grandma would want for Christmas. “Kisses from me!” She replied without skipping a beat! Then I asked her if she could give anyone ONE THING for Christmas who would it be and what would it be. She smiled and thought about it for a second and then said, “YOU MOMMY! I would give you a NAP!” Haha and that was that! She then bounced off the chair and went away to play something else. I then put my 2 year old on the chair and all he could talk about was legos and cheese but I think if he could, he would probably give legos and cheese to his sister for Christmas! This little exercise I did with my little ones was so so fun for me!! I love every chance I can get to teach my children the true spirit of Christmas. The spirit of giving! I LOVED watching the Capital One video on their website that they made about giving more! Check it out, unless you first it at the first portion of my post, at www.wishforothers.com! We all know that giving to others feels great, whether you’re donating to a nonprofit, volunteering at a food bank or doing something nice for a loved one. To celebrate that spirit of giving and make the holidays a little brighter this year, we want to hear about your wish for others. Share your wish for someone else – a family member, a friend, a neighbor, or a community — with #WishForOthers on Twitter, Instagram, or the Capital One Facebook page from Nov. 24 through Dec. 23 for a chance to make it come true.
