Why yes, actually. And not only yes, but HAIL YES!!! I LOVE being able to bring you guys my testimony and opinion on all matters health and fitness. AND I am ESPECIALLY excited about Coolsculpting. It really is incredible.
When I first heard about Coolsculpting I was skeptical, like the next person, so I did my research. (I blame it on the nurse in me) I wanted to know if this NON-INVASIVE procedure actually worked.
It’s actually called Cryolipolysis: controlled cooling to target and kill fat cells.
Before I confess and profess my thoughts and love about this procedure, I want to give you the opportunity to read all about it first. It’s worth it, I promise. The quoted material below is from an article written by Michael D. Marion, MD.
“In 1999, two doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital, which is aligned with Harvard Medical School, conducted research showing that under carefully controlled conditions, subcutaneous fat cells are more vulnerable to the effects of cooling than other surrounding tissue. Lipids in the fat cells crystallize faster than normal cells, and are more susceptible to a cooling injury than surrounding tissues. So by inducing part of the body (love handles, for example) to controlled cooling, the fat cells crystallize. That crystallization process causes the cells to initiate their own death, while the surrounding tissue isn’t harmed. The body then metabolizes and clears out the dead fat cells. This clearing process continues for months, causing the fat layer to reduce in size.
This fat freezing process is characteristically different from other noninvasive body contouring techniques, which generally use either radio frequency or ultrasound. Cryolipolysis has been commercially available for the longest time, and has also been the best researched. Radio frequency or ultrasound treatments can, in a limited way, mechanically destroy fat cells but then leave the released fat cell lipids vulnerable to reabsorption into the body. Using heat to destroy fat cells initiates a different bodily response than cooling.
All too often, science does not have much to do with the latest fat loss technique. Coolsculpting, on the other hand, reports nearly 3 million treatments performed world-wide, has 50+ published clinical white papers, and has had 3,600 + patients treated in clinical studies. Hundreds of study results have combined to make Coolsculpting the industry standard for non-invasive fat reduction.”
I LOVE this. Science. It’s all about science with this and BECAUSE of that, it is something I can back! So, when I learned this was available at Dr. Marion’s office in Lehi, I was beyond thrilled to give it a shot! I seriously love that office. The most kind, down to earth couple I know.
I have and ALWAYS will believe that HARD WORK and EXERCISE should come first before trying to short the process to that “body you desire”. I also believe that people can do whatever to their bodies they desire, I may agree or disagree, and YOU might agree or disagree as well, but thankfully OUR opinion doesn’t matter! At all. With that being said, Coolsculpting isn’t for everyone. It doesn’t work for people who have an excess amount of weight to lose. It only works for that subcutaneous tissue aka fat cells right under the skin (The collection of fat that gives you stubborn belly fat, love handles, or in my case the under part of my arms)
I’ve come a really long way, losing over 80 pounds and toning my body over the years but those triceps have ALWAYS been my absolute enemy. I’ve overcome so many self doubts and struggles with my body and self image, BUT I’ve always struggled with my arms. I have bought the long sleeve over the short sleeve shirt for as long as I can remember. Are they strong? And able? You bet they are. I am blessed to have the arms and body that I have. BUT if an opportunity is brought to me that could possibly change my arms for forever. YOU BETTER BELIEVE I am going to take that opportunity (after having researched it and feel comfortable) and give it a try!
I targeted my inner thighs, arms, and love handles. I went in for a consult and they were able to tell me which parts of my body were great target areas for the procedure. They wouldn’t do my stomach because of the lack of subcutaneous fat cells, but I was fine with that and actually really think it’s great that they check to make sure you have enough fat cells to do the procedure. It was so easy and only a little uncomfortable at the end. It took an hour per section and I answered emails the entire time. The second I was done, I was on my way to the gym. My experience with Coolsculpting at Doctor Marion’s office was simple, easy, and seriously wonderful! I am beyond excited to feel confident in short sleeve shirts and love my arms even more than I do now! Or for my jeans to fit better and my all my curves to curve just the way I want them!
I am going in for my second treatment next week and I can’t wait to show you all the results. It never hurts to get some extra help in my opinion. AND this is the ONLY way to do that in my opinion!!!
For any of you that are even slightly intrigued, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you CALL Doctor Marion’s office and schedule a complimentary Coolsculpting consult. IF you do, AND tell them that you heard about them from SADIE JANE, you get $100 CREDIT toward any spa service! Go now.
