I can’t believe it’s BACK-TO-SCHOOL time! If I am being honest, I was a bit apprehensive for this year, mostly because Reagan used to really struggle with school or anything related to it.
She didn’t want to go. Didn’t want to make new friends. Didn’t want to get ready for school. She pretty much just wanted summer to last all year long.
That was until this year! This year things changed! She LOVED her teacher when she met her and she finally has a good friend that she is excited to see at school! Her friend Fia gives her support, love, and courage to enjoy school and even helps her get excited to go everyday.
It’s amazing what some support can do! Not just for her, but for me! I am grateful as a mother that she feels confident and excited to go to school.
Just like Reagan needed support from her friend, I needed to get back into my schedule and use that as my support for not losing my mind! HA! I love the routine that going back-to-school brings but it can be difficult to dive into!
That’s why I wanted to share my top 3 tips for staying sane with your back-to-school routine!
Tip 1: Prep at night. The morning is mayhem for me! Complete mayhem! No matter how much I try to keep it chill. It is so nice to go to bed knowing you have everything done! Fill the water bottles, make the lunches, throw them in the fridge, and all you have to do is grab and go in the morning.
Tip 2: Take a moment for you while they are in school. When the kids jet off to school, I feel like it’s my time to go go go but we need to allow ourselves a moment to just enjoy some peace and quiet. Maybe during the little ones nap time. Meditate. Breathe. Move. Just take time to relax. Once the kids get home, it’s always homework and mayhem and dinner time!
Tip 3: While enjoying a yummy lunch…maybe with a Jif Natural and Smucker’s Natural Strawberry Fruit Spread PB&J sandwich, make the after school snack for the kids! OR plan the after school snack during that time and let the kids make it themselves! The fresh-roasted peanut taste and 7 grams of protein paired with the perfect touch of sweetness is an easy way for moms and kids to enjoy a nourished lunch and/or after school snack!
Just like students and teachers, Reagan and Fia, Mama’s and their schedules, recess and the playground, books and backpacks, Jif Peanut Butter and Smucker’s Jam are better together! Do you have any tips for moms this school year? I would love to hear them below!
XOXO
