RENEW * REDISCOVER * RISE

It’s hard to believe that it has been three weeks since our SOLD OUT Simply Wild Women’s Backpacking Retreat. I’m STILL riding on the high of guiding 12 amazing women with my co-guide Angelique Fish into the backcountry of Canyonlands National Park for a weekend of exploration, healing, and growth. These 12 women—none of whom had ever backpacked before—bravely chose to invest in themselves and traveled to Utah from Washington, Idaho, Arizona, Missouri, Texas, North Carolina, and Hawaii.
Because Angelique and I believe in the importance of preservation and education, we spent the first night at a condo in Moab so we could teach the women about Leave No Trace principles and the fragile but highly crucial cryptobiotic soil found throughout the Utah desert (#dontbustthecrust). Then, we spent the rest of the evening showing the women how to properly pack their backpacks for their weekend in the wilderness.
Early the next morning before we left for the trailhead, each woman wrote down her fears about the retreat. Many of the women shared that they were afraid they wouldn’t physically be able to do it. One woman even said, “I’m afraid that I am too fat for backpacking.” It broke my heart to hear her say that!
But that’s what this retreat was all about: helping these women remove the fears and the false beliefs that were holding them back from loving themselves and living the life they want. And what better place to do it, completely free from distractions, than among the red and white sandstone spires that rise hundreds of feet above the pristine grasslands of Canyonlands National Park!
If you asked the 12 women to describe their experience at Simply Wild, you’d probably hear the word “life-changing” repeated among them because that is exactly what the retreat was, even to Angelique and me. It was inspiring to see the transformation each woman made over the course of the weekend.
We are excited to announce our next Simply Wild Women’s Backpacking Retreat in Canyonlands National Park is set for April 23-27. We are adding an extra night in Moab so that we can conclude the weekend of renewal and rediscovery with a soul-soothing sound bath meditation. We only have 12 spots, so click here to sign up now!
Feeling called to sign up but aren’t sure if you should? See what some of the women from the retreat had to say.
I was blown away with Sadie’s ability to hold space for each individual and make them feel supported. She was able to help those who struggled to open up. She gave each of us her whole self and performed acts of service that were so unbelievably selfless. I felt an unexpected support from all of the woman, especially Sadie and Angelique.
Being in Canyonlands, with the support of Sadie, Angelique, and all of the amazing women on this retreat has forever changed my soul for the better. I was awoken to my power, my depth, and a lot of work that I get to do on myself. I will be forever grateful for this experience that I will hold close to my heart. I am privileged to have spent time with Sadie and each of these woman. I cant wait until the next Simply Sadie Jane Retreat!

Simply Wild 2019 was simply one of the best decisions I’ve made this year. I am so grateful I listened to my soul and signed up. I was looking for an experience that would shift the path I was heading down. I was in desperate need of tools that would help me change. I wanted to find strength in myself. I was so uplifted and validated by the many women who were there but especially by Sadie. She spent one-on-one time with me and broke down some walls and helped me rebuild them. I will forever be grateful to her and the experience she created. I can’t wait to continue using the tools a I learned to better myself and my family. I have gained trust with who I am and who I’m strive to be. I know its possible through light and gratitude. No more darkness can create who I want to be.. only light and love forever!! Thank you, Sadie Jane.
