I haven’t shared this yet.
I’ve been dancing. Not just jamming out in my kitchen during dinner clean up – I do that too. I’ve been freely expressing my emotions through movement. And it’s giving me all the feels.
Our bodies were designed to move – right down to a cellular level. Movement improves our health, our mood, and – it feels so dang good!
Movement improves your body.
When we move we improve circulation, increase lung capacity, and stretch those muscles that give us the ability to move in the first place. My self-love journey has empowered me to use movement to thank my body, not punish it. Because moving our bodies is a beautiful and creative expression. Notice I didn’t say movement improves your body by changing the shape. It can. But that shouldn’t be the reason we move.
Movement improves your mind.
The physical health benefits are sometimes pretty obvious but our mental health is just as important. When you move, your brain releases chemicals. Those chemicals have been known to give you a boost – sometimes known as a runners’ high. Movement improves our mood, increases our self esteem and even encourages us to connect with others.
That last one blew me away. Encourages us to connect with others. I had no idea! How cool is that? And beautiful timing too.
Movement improves your soul.
In the last few years I have really fallen in love with Yoga. Through this practice I have been able to see the connection that moving my body has with connecting to my soul. Movement goes much deeper than the physical. When we move and align our body we open our physical bodies to connect to our spiritual bodies…to the universe.
Did you know that everything vibrates? Vibration. Movement. Connection. It’s by design.
Next week we are going within and talking about gut health!
I’m also announcing The 7-Day Movement Challenge here first! You can learn all about it and sign up here.
And always remember…
