This little tradition of ours has become one of the most memorable mother-daughter experiences. I love that little Reagan (who isn’t so little anymore) now gives ideas and contributes to choosing bits and pieces of our costumes.
This tradition started out as a Halloween series I decided to join in on Instagram. We had so much fun with it I decided to make it our thing. You can read more about our first year here. What was initially a simple almost silly idea, quickly became one of my favorite shoots of all time. You can click on each of the looks to see more photos.

These foxes were perfection. When I think of woodland creatures, I always think of moms and their babes.
2017

This look was so fun and a bit more out-of-the-box than what I would have normally considered doing with my 7-year-old daughter, BUT throw some stars and gems on a skull, add in some rainbow colors, and you’ve got yourself an all-ages appropriate skull makeup look.

Reagan was really getting into this photoshoot. I was so dang proud of how well she pulled this one off. Each year gets a little crazier but the time spent with her is so worth it.
2019

Reagan took the lead on this one. She so badly wanted to be unicorns. And I couldn’t say no. This was the first year that the cold weather had to play into our outfits but I think we pulled this off!
2020

I say it every year. This is my favorite one yet! We had so much fun dancing around and getting into character. I am so impressed with Reagan!
Does your family do themed costumes for Halloween? I’m soaking it in while Reagan still wants to do this with me. I secretly hope she always wants to!
